At Nassau we have a large set of tools at our disposal for analyzing relevant workstyle characteristics, including organizational culture, ICT / information provisions and the physical working environment. We collect data that help us to gain insight in current as well as future work practices. Data that
We use three types of research:
assessment, inventory and evaluation research
Assessment research
Assessment research is used to conduct feasibility and/or comparative studies.
The results help in formulating housing strategy and policy, or in making strategic decisions regarding working environment, working methods and culture.
Examples of assessment research
Drawing up feasibility studies (business cases) for flexible (hybrid) working environments, specifically tailored to the organizational strategy
Conducting comparison studies between different types of work environments (e.g. traditional versus innovative work environments)
Determining the ROI of diverse workplace strategies
Developing various workplace scenarios with associated expected investments, operating costs and revenues
Determine willingness to change for time and place independent work and map out change management needs
Determining the effectiveness of ICT tools or the extent to which digital working is applied effectively (adoption rate)
Determining employee engagement, satisfaction, health, vitality, connection (cohesion), job satisfaction.

We deliver customized solutions. Our measuring instruments are modular and can be adapted to the customer's situation, wishes, requirements, and needs.

Inventory research
Inventory research is crucial in supporting decisions about the design and layout of (flexible) work environments. We utilize tools developed in-house and continuously refined based on years of experience.
Examples of inventory research
Activity analysis (type, nature, frequency)
Occupancy rate measurement / occupancy rate observation (the extent to which workplaces are used)
Work style assessment (provides insight into flexible, digital and results-oriented working methods)
Organizational Culture Index (provides insight into organizational culture, typology)
Relationship matrix (provides insight into the (informal) relationships between departments, units or teams)
The process is fully digital, from collection to processing, statistical analysis and data visualization.

Evaluative research
Nassau has several measurement tools available to measure the impact of your work environment or housing strategy on business results (both quantitatively and qualitatively).
These studies typically consist of a pre- and post-measurement. By calculating the difference between the pre- and post-measurement, the difference in effect between the old and new working methods and/or work environment can be determined on various aspects such as employee engagement, satisfaction, stress, or workload. Pre-measurement results often also inform policy and strategy formulation.
Examples of evaluation research
Employee Engagement Index
Satisfaction (e.g. with work, organization, leadership, circumstances, office, facilities)
Work pressure, stress & burnout;
Psychological contract (informal agreements; unwritten, mutual expectations)
Health, vitality & well-being (affective, emotional and cognitive);
Absenteeism, presenteeism & turnover
Job satisfaction
